Over 50 episodes have already appeared on the BUWOG podcast. Now the ninth season is launching with new guests and topics ranging from emotional architecture to sustainable building and refurbishment.
The new season of the BUWOG podcast “Glücklich wohnen” (“Happy Living”) begins on 6 February 2025. The platform, which features discussions on urban development, neighbourhood development, sustainable building and architecture, has been available since 2022. The season’s opener focuses on the emotional impact of cities on their residents. The guest is psychiatrist and stress researcher Prof. Dr. Mazda Adli, chief physician at the Fliedner Clinic in Berlin and head of the Affective Disorders Research Unit at the Clinic for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at the Charité university hospital in Berlin. The field of neurourbanistics, which he founded, aims to create cities that are conducive to the mental health of their residents. What impact does the built environment of buildings, neighbourhood developments, cities and infrastructure have on the well-being of people? And how can we build in a way that best reduces “urban stress”? This question is currently undergoing exploration in the research project “Your emotional city”, a highly acclaimed citizen science study being conducted in collaboration with Futurium, the Berlin-based House of Futures.
The new episodes of the BUWOG podcast invite you to discover the latest trends and solutions relating to construction and housing in Germany and Austria. Theresa Keilhacker, freelance architect and president of the Berlin Chamber of Architects, is interviewed about the opportunities and challenges surrounding the controversial Building Type E. This season also features another live episode from the Ludwig Erhard Haus in Berlin. Modular building is discussed with a panel from research and practice. “How good are line-produced apartments?”, moderator Michael Divé asks Sun Jensch (COALITION for TIMBER CONSTRUCTION) and entrepreneur Markus Fuhrmann, founder of GROPYUS, on 6 March 2025. Peter Engert, the managing director of the Austrian Sustainable Building Council (ÖGNI), talks about the energetic refurbishment of existing property.
The individual episodes last between 30 and 60 minutes and can be found on all popular platforms such as Spotify, Deezer and Apple Podcast. All previous topics are still available at https://buwog.podigee.io/.
